Wagons at the Airport

Sitting in a paddock across the road from Ardmore Airport, stacks of UKK class wagons sit on sleepers in a paddock. It's not yet known what these wagons are intended for

Among the UKK wagons sits UKR 1431 (top right in this view), the only identifiable wagon not classed UKK and the only one with the older "Chopper" style coupler

The wagons are easily visible from the main road through Ardmore Airport, and a few are also easily identifiable, suck as UKK 8506 and UKK 4367 seen here

On the other side of the gate but still taken from public land, another pile of wagons sit around. Almost 40 wagons could be counted in the area

Up close, the wagons appear to be in reasonable condition, although it's unknown what hidden faults they had

Situated nearly 4 kilometres from the nearest railway at Papakura and some 20 kilometres from Westfield yard by road, the wagons are a long way from home
