During a Sunday block of line, Treescape worked on removing dead trees from alongside the railway. Here, a hi-rail digger is seen dragging away the remnants of one of the fallen trees

During the tree removal works, two workers cut the trees down and let them fall on the railway, while the digger dragged the trees away to clear the line. The trees were removed as branches were starting to fall on the tracks in wet weather and block the line

The view has opened up significantly, as DL 9515 coasts down the hill with the following day's train 229. In tow on the train is EF 30105, returning from Auckland after a visit to the wheel lathe
