Inside one of the smaller rooms out the back of the building are old CityRail signs for Newmarket and Remuera, still with original tagging. CityRail was the name for the passenger rail services before they were renamed to Tranz Metro, then later ran under the council's MAXX brand and now the AT brand

Remuera station features a small kitchen, although run-down. This will have been necessary, as during the 1990s, the building was used as a house

In stark contrast to the appearance of the 1907-era building during the 1990s, the restored building is a standout feature of the railway station. The station opened in 1907 and closed to freight traffic in 1979 except for a nearby private siding

AM 593 stands under the restored building in a contrast between the old and new. The platforms and building were raised before the Rugby World Cup in 2011 - prior to that work, the station building was fenced off to the public
