Outside the concourse is a balcony, which provides 24/7 access across the tracks. This allows pedestrians to bypass Bridge Street even when train services are not running

Another visible sign of future proofing, a door from the bus platforms would give access to a future platform that would be built on the third main. It is hoped that in the near future, this platform woul be used for Te Huia
