At Swanson, a now-unwrapped AM 620 waits for its next run back towards Manukau, missing the stripes and AT logo on the sides. Wraps were removed from all units as the original versions did not meet stricter fire standards needed for the City Rail Link, although newer wraps meeting these standards are being applied to other units

DLP 9763 leads Ab 608 and DBR 1254 through Pōkeno in the early morning, returning to Glenbrook empty. The previous night at Te Awamutu, the GVR train was involved in a fatal accident, leading to KiwiRail taking the train home after passengers were taken home by bus and the train blessed. DLP 9763 and the runner wagon came down from Te Rapa to assist, before returning the consist to Glenbrook

Later that morning, DLP 9763 heads back south with train 141 in tow. The train conveyed the runner wagon used for Ab 608, as well as taking empty coal wagons from Mission Bush back to Huntly
