The nearest operational rail infrastructure is still two kilometres away, but progress on the new Manukau station is progressing well. The station is expected to open in 2011

The Manukau station will be underground, like Britomart. The trench for the approach to the station is just about complete, not hindered by operating trains unlike New Lynn
