SD 5893 stands at Papakura Platform 4 waiting for a Pukekohe shuttle. The SA sets were introduced in 2004 as a stopgap measure, rebuilt from British Rail MkII carriages. 23 sets were built in total ranging from 3 to 6 carriages, and the class lasted 11 years in service
